Det Dobbeltsidede Hjerte

Galleri Lene Bilgrav
2024

The exhibition is complemented by the poem ‘Læk’ written by Julie Sten-Knudsen

Det Dobbeltsidede Hjerte (The Double-Sided Heart) centers on the question of how one finds their way back to themselves after a life crisis. It asks how one reclaims space and presence after losing a sense of self and direction in life. This energy, both childlike and adult, bursts forth, focusing on the body, sexuality, and a rebellion against the urge to please, while searching for points of reference and places to speak from.

Both the author and the artist draw inspiration from their personal experiences and the life-altering crises and events they have faced. These are experiences we all encounter, which may prompt a desire to reinvent oneself. Through the interaction of artwork and text, the artist and author aim to expand, challenge, and nuance this thematic focus, and create a space for community and reflection.
